For us, Italy is a country of which you never get bored. Italians are the best when it comes to fashion, tourism, food, cars and practically, living the good life (la dolce vita). This July, we chose to visit Puglia, which is a southern region forming the heel of Italy’s “boot”, known for its whitewashed hill towns, centuries-old farmland and hundreds of kilometers of Mediterranean coastline.
We took the ferry from Durrës to Bari, which takes off at around 12.00 am and arrives in Bari early in the morning. But, you can also choose to take the ferry from Vlora to Brindisi, which is a shorter distance and it takes about 6 hours of cruising. Anyways, we booked an amazing apartment in Carovingo, a province of Brindisi. It was exactly what we were looking for: tranquility, nature, countryside and comfort.
This property consists of a main mansion and a separate apulian trullo with independent entrance. The mansion is a mediterranean style villa and has 3 large double bed rooms and common sharing areas. The interior design of the mansion is so beautiful and stylish.
The location is good and strategic for those who want to discover the beauties of Northern Salento and its surroundings.
A few kilometers away you can find the historic centers of interesting Puglia old towns including Oria with its majestic castle, Ostuni (the white city), Cisternino and its charming historic corners, Ceglie Messapica with its beautiful castle, Martina Franca and the Valley of Itria, Carovigno, Mesagne with its wonderful historical center, its characteristic corners and many places to spend your summer evenings.
The Adriatic coast with its beautiful marine locations like Torre Guaceto, Lido Pozzella, Lamaforca, Lido Specchiolla, Punta Penna Grossa is only 8 km away. And in about 30 minutes drive you will reach the wonderful beaches and the crystal clear sea of the Ionian coast of Salento.
